Burkman Brothers Madras Cloth Pt 2.

The name Madras comes from the former English name of the city Chennai in India. The cloth was once identified by it's colloquial name "Madrasi checks". The Burkman Brothers are masters of the Madrasi Checks. 



This Madras jacket is lined with the most beautiful Oxford fabric and is full of great details like hidden pockets.

The fabric is mentioned many times in the book 'The Outsiders' mainly worn as a shirt or a jacket by the preppy and upper class Socs. The book was written by S.E Hinton and in In 1983 it was made into a film by Francis Ford Coppola.
